Apple iPhone XR Review – The Most EFFICIENT iPhone!

Hey guys this is Karthik and you are looking at a brand new iPhone XR in coral and the color blue I want to show you guys few pictures the first one is taken with the portrait feature of two iPhones one is the iPhone XR and another one is the iPhone X I want you guys to pick the one that you like in the meanwhile I want to show you guys another picture this is captured using the wide angle lens on these two cameras the iPhone XR and the iPhone X just take a look at it for a second and then just remember which one you like the one on the left or one on the right let’s go back to the first one for me I like the one on the left just because I have a five-year-old is running around all the time I’m trying to get the you know best picture possible and I have like you know pretty much a fraction of a second to take these pictures and I like the portrait mode right the moment I’ve switched to portrait mode player you get zoomed in because the iPhone X, XS and XS MAX use the telephoto lens to you know capture the main subject of your portrait and then use the wide-angle to you know get the background for the blur the iPhone X, XS and XS Max with the dual lens the wide-angle lens is the superior quality right it has a bigger sensor it has it better aperture its overall it’s the better lens for now on the right you have a picture where the main subject and the background is captured with the superior lens when compared to the telephoto lens on the latest tennis and XS Max and this is one of the biggest reason why if you are into serious photography people photography in particular I think iPhone XR is probably the best phone Apple makes today but this video is not just about the camera I’m just going to talk about why I think the iPhone XR is more efficient and value for money when compared to the iPhone XS and XS max I’m an iPhone user and I’ve upgraded pretty much every year except for the SE and the C models but this is the first year I’m kind of on the fence if I should really upgrade to the 10s and XS Max because iPhone X is one of the best phones and I love the OLED screen in a small form-factor yet the biggest screen but when I listen to the keynote when the XR was released I was little letdown just like everyone else because I was just looking at these specs on the paper it doesn’t have a lot of pixel density the resolution is a little bit less than 1080p the display itself looking too taller even though it has the same aspect
ratio when compared to the iPhone X, XS and XS Max so if you look at just these specs you’d think the iPhone XR is not the best phone but you should really go to an Apple store and hold an iPhone XR and compare them side-by-side with the iPhone XS and XS MAX because I did and I think iPhone XR is probably the best iPhone Apple has ever made this looks just beautiful all the things that’s supposed to be a downgrade are things you don’t actually see well everything that actually matters are exactly the same thing we get from the higher-end models like the XS and XS Max on top of that there are a few things that are actually better than the XS which makes this phone more efficient and more value for your money let’s start with how polished the 10r actually looks even the camera bump looks industrial and really well put together the metal frame in the middle it’s anodized aluminum like I said I didn’t really appreciate this until I elders tennis and ten are side by side on top of that because a wide number of colors to match your style and the overall form factors perfectly in between tennis and tennis max I hardly think said tennis max is little too big and the 10r strikes the right balance in terms of screen to body ratio yes the bezel it’s little thicker and the screen itself does look a bit a taller but what matters most is the number of pixels viewing angle and how accurate the color is and that’s where Apple really makes a difference here because every 10 are is accurately color calibrated to DCA p3 just like the 10s and 10’s Mac so you get great vibrant accurate colors and you can’t really see the difference between the OLED screen and the LCD screen 100 day-to-day years even though the screen may appear a bit taller you still get the same aspect ratio which is nine point five by nine aspect ratio just like the iPhone 10 10s and 10’s max but if you are directly coming from the iPhone 8 it may take some getting used to because the iPhone 8 plus screen looks like it’s wider in portrait mode but the 10 are you’re getting a much larger display than the iPhone 8 plus channel has two wide-angle lens which is exactly same as the 10s and 10’s max that’s the same bigger sensor 26 millimeter wider lens than the iPhone 10 and this is a great segue to talk about the a12 Bionic chip the fact that you actually have the same CPU we get on the higher-end models like the 10s and 10’s max but the huge difference is the eight core
neural engine the neural engine used to be like a three core on the iPhone 10 and on the iPhone 10 are you’re getting an eight core neural engine so why does it matter the neural engine is responsible for machine learning and artificial intelligence stuff like battery so when your camera is doing all this spot HDR and portrait mode and protect mode selfie and all that these eight cores are put to work to read the scene apply smart HDR effects and also create those nice wide angled bokeh ten hours battery is another thing that makes this phone more efficient the channel has the larger battery capacity than a 10 s 10 ours energy efficiency is far superior when compared to the iPhone tennis because you know when I’m outdoors you know it’s it’s bright outside and your your screen is pretty much on full brightness you have a lower solution display of consuming far less energy when compared to the larger screen that we see on the iPhone tennis and tennis max weight and it was a weekend where I had really heavy usage because I was with my phone and I forgot to put the phone on the charger and the next day I still had 20% left it has a bigger battery to the iPhone 10 it has a smaller battery can i phone Telus max it’s right in between 10s and 10’s max and from a battery perspective this is a great phone I didn’t closing I still think the iPhone 10 R is expensive given given all this great things about the iPhone 10 R I still think this phone is a little bit overpriced I think if it was $100 less than the current price I think could have been the best phone Apple has ever made other than that I think this is a great phone and if you want to save $250 and get great selfies and better picture quality even compared to the iPhone 10s and 10’s max this is the phone to go and on top of that you get wide variety of colors and it looks great with the anodized aluminum color matched with the rest of your phone right between my review of the iPhone 10 r if you have an iPhone 10 R and let me know in the comment section below if I’ve missed something if there’s something that you don’t like or you like better than your old form please leave that in the comment section below I’m really active in the comment section I love interacting with you guys so I hope to see you guys there and the next video I’m working on the iPad pro full review actually I made some I normally make a lot of home videos I’m planning to make a video about how I edit
